Theme parks always have times of the year where they are extremely crowded, and times when they are almost empty. This website called "IS IT PACKED?" tracks crowds at many major theme parks including Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Knott's Berry Farm. Whenever I'm planning on taking a trip to a theme park I always check this website to see when the best time is to go.
If you are at the park, the website has a feature where you are able to submit a crowd tip, adding your input to the website.
First, there's the crowd tracker, where it shows the current status of the park. The four levels they have are:
"Forget About It" - Extremely Crowded. 60-90+ minute wait times.
"Yup, it's Packed" - Crowded. 40-60 minute wait times.
"Hey, it's Alright" - Not that bad, but still expect to wait. 20-30 minute wait times.
"Ghost Town" - This is when you want to try and go to the park. 5-15 minute wait times.
The crowd calendar feature predicts how crowded the park will be in the coming months.
Each week has one or more days marked "Best Bet". This means it is the week's best day to go based on annual pass blackout days, special events, school schedules, ticket sales, and historic attendance. The calendar also shows when Graduation Nights are going on at the parks.
If you are planning a trip to the park, I suggest taking a look at this website first. Of course, it will not always be 100% accurate, but I have found it useful whenever I plan on going to a theme park.
