This month we attended SoCal Retro Gaming Expo at the Pasadena Convention Center. At this event you can see some of your favorite gaming Youtubers, play arcade games, and more.
The expo had two different areas- an area with booths and another area with arcade games. All arcade games at this event were free to play! We had a great time playing some of the arcade games they had there.
Another fun thing to see at this event was the photo opportunities. All around the expo there were photo backdrops where you could take all kinds of gaming- themed photos.
You could find many gaming themed merchandise and products at booths all around the expo. Funko Pops and mystery boxes were a popular item at the event.
Many artists also had booths put up around the expo, such as Pastel Fantasy, a team of crafters and artists specializing in kawaii. Their booth had a variety of cute items such as earrings, Pokemon stickers, and My Little Pony stickers.
We were able to contact Pastel Fantasy and ask them a few questions about their booth and products
"We like to theme certain products to our event, making certain our displays are packed with relevant merchandise. Being a gaming convention we made more of our gaming related merchandise front and center. We also tend to create a few new products that are exclusive to releasing at a given convention before they are available online. For the retro gaming expo we released new plushies and stickers."
"In complete honesty our favorite experience at conventions is always meeting the other artists. While engaging with costumers is a lot of fun we always find new insight (and friends) when chatting with our neighbor vendors."

SoCal Retro Gaming Expo was a great experience and we are excited to see what's in store for next year's event.
2020 dates for the event are yet to be announced.
